"My husband suffers from an allergy"
I am one of the many readers of your magazine, from abroad. I cannot tell you how many times I cried, I was glad or I got sad reading the columns of the magazine. The reason for which I have decided to write you now is my complete trust in the natural remedies. My husband has been suffering from an allergy for about 20 years; the disease manifests by edemas on his entire body. He has run a lot of medical tests, but the doctors have not detected the allergen yet. The problem is that these edemas have occurred more and more often (at every two-three days) since we moved to Usa. He takes some tablets Zyrtec (cetirizine hydrochloride, produced by Pfizer) which are effective, but, as far as I know, these anti- allergic tablets weaken the immunity of the body. I am 25 years old and I am confronted with a very unpleasant problem: perspiration. I excessively sweat, but only in the underarm area, which is very troublesome to me, especially when I want to wear white clothes, which get immediately stained. I turn to the readers of this magazine, hoping that someone may give me a piece of advice. My husband underwent a surgery for pulmonary neoplasm. My 15 year old daughter suffers from hypermetropic astigmatism at her left eye and slight hypermetropia at her right eye. My 67 year old mother underwent a surgery of uterine fibroma (with total hysterectomy) 20 years ago. Since then her condition got worse and worse every year. The most serious problems are because of her feet, which get swollen. Her foot and her ankle are so swollen, that she cannot even put on her slippers. She has difficulties walking and she has not left her house for 15 years. We cannot alleviate her suffering, even though she underwent the treatment prescribed by the family doctor. Some time ago, the swellings used to go down during the night, but now they are swollen all the time. My mother has also heart problems and she undergoes a treatment against them; however she has had suffocation attacks (acute lack of air) for two years. She has taken Miofilin, but with no effect. My 73 year old father suffers from allergic rhinitis. He has undergone five polyp surgeries but the polyps still recur. He has been dependent on Cortisone, Diprophos for 15 years, and now he needs 1 ampoule a month. Otherwise, he has the snuffles and he can breathe only on his mouth. He has also tried some desensitization, but with no result. The problem is that his organism has not responded to the treatment since the last Diprophos ampoule, in August, and his nose got cleaned only a little and only in the daytime. What should we do? We have heard that, in Bucharest, one can undergo a polyp laser surgery. Thus, my father could still hope for alleviation, but we do not know where to go and who to see. Let me recommend you a very effective receipt: Potato juice one glass 4-5 times a day, for one month. It tastes very unpleasant and this is why you should mix it with carrot juice. Cabbage juice 2-3 glasses every day between meals, for three weeks, in spring and autumn. Argil: external treatment- you should apply cataplasms on the epigastrium every day, between meals; internal treatment one teaspoonful of argil for ½ glass of water; you should drink it half an hour before each meal, for 10-20 days. All saints" wort (Hypericum perforatum) - infusion: 1 spoonful of plant for 200 ml of water. You should drink three mugs every day. Milfoil (Achillea millefolium) infusion: 20-40 g plant for 1 l of water. You should boil it for 2-3 minutes and strain it after 15 minutes. You should drink 3-5 cups every day. Milfoil tincture: 10-20 g plant for 100 ml alcohol 70o. Take 30 drops, three times a day. Liquorice root (Glycyrrhiza echinata) cold steeping, 1-2 teaspoonfuls for a mug. You should drink it during the day, for 1-2 months. Blackwort decoction (Symphytum officinale) - 1-2 teaspoonfuls for a mug of water. I advise you to undergo a treatment that, even if it is not natural, has helped me get rid of the piles. It is called Variterp ointment (plants: Aesculus hipocastanum triterpenic extract + rutin+ hamamelis extract produced by "Antibiotice" S.A. Iasi), a cheap Romanian medicine, produced by "Antibiotice" S.A. Iasi. You should act as follows: after every stool you should do your local hygiene with soap and warm water, then you should take out 1-2 cm of ointment from the tube, introduce the ointment into the anus with your middle finger (using a sterile rubber glove), turning it left-right in order to completely smear the internal area. You should repeat the procedure every day, for 3-4 weeks. I got rid of the piles in three weeks" time and I have not had bleedings for two years. If you cannot find Variterp, you should buy Nepathrombin - ointment, which has almost the same properties. Anyway, during the treatment period and after undergoing it, give up eating spices (chilly, pepper, paprika etc.), spiced food, salami and sausages, drinking alcoholic drinks and if you smoke, you should give it up right away, as the cigarette smoke contains numerous irritating substances that reach the rectal area through blood, congesting it and provoking bleedings.
