"The doctors from U.S.A are against the massages with alcohol"
I live in the Usa and I have an 11 month old daughter. Every time she has fever, I think about the massage with alcohol my grandmother used to apply to me and about the hot teas she used to make me drink. The fever would get lower in only one night, through perspiration. Here, the doctors are against massages, not only in the case of the children, but also in that of the adults. It seems that nobody has ever heard of this simple and effective method. Taking into consideration my daughter"s age, I would like to know what the risks are and at what age I could apply a massage to her, possibly with vinegar diluted in water, if the alcohol vapors may be inhaled and if their inhalation is dangerous. I am also interested in some other natural remedies that can be used in order to avoid the medicines (Tylenol, for example). Thank you very much for your help.

I have a son who is 11 years and 6 months old and who has been confronted with a permanent nausea and inappetence for two months. He has neither pain nor fever. He has run a lot of medical tests and all the results were good. My 71 year old aunt underwent a surgery in October 1994, being diagnosed with atypical carcinoma and having her right breast surgically removed. She underwent a radical mastectomy with Madden type completion. In 1995 she took 45 sessions of cobalt radiotherapy. She underwent a treatment with Tamoxifen for two years. In 1999 she got erysipelas at her left arm and she underwent a treatment with Penicillin and Endotelon. In July 2002 she got erysipelas again and she underwent a treatment with Klacid (antibiotic) for one week. The oncologist advised her to use a medical elastic dressing during the day for as long time as she can bear it. However, her arm is swollen, got hard and she has pains at her joints. My suffering may be much smaller than that of the many people who write you; however I believe that you will help me get cured. I valued my hair a lot; three years ago, it was long and trim. Let me recommend you the Swedish bitter, both against the ocular secretion and against conjunctivitis. You can buy it from Plafar or from the pharmacy. Smear your eyelids with a few drops of bitter and keep your eyes closed for 1-2 minutes, until the bitter gets completely evaporated. If it gets inside your eyes or if you have some smarting sensations, you should not worry as nothing bad will happen. Moreover, your eyes will collect the secretions from the entire day. For the beginning, I advise you to smear your eyes as frequently as you can, every time you remember, until the disorder is over. Then you should do the same every evening, before going to sleep, to maintain and improve your sight. I also advise you not to wash your eyes after smearing them, but only the next morning. I have personally tried this treatment and it was amazingly effective - I tell you this as I have tried all the eye drops existing in pharmacies and they were not effective at all against conjunctivitis. Dear Lady, I was confronted with a similar situation, too. The doctors advised me to undergo surgery for removing the affected mammary tissue. As I knew from other friends that these surgeries would continue over and over again (as the mammary tissue would be continuously influenced by tumors and would turn into dysplastic tissue), I looked for some other solutions. The treatment prescribed by Dr. Irina Spuderca - who helped me save my breast, without a surgery was very effective. I also had the problems you have and, as I had read in "Formula As" about the therapies applied at the Recovery center "Bioactive", located at Calea Calarasi nr. 81, sector 3, Bucharest (tel.021/3207684), I was prescribed a combined treatment, which consisted in the following procedures: I applied Stimuven gel (chestnut extract) on my legs (clean skin) in the morning and in the evening. You should stay with your legs leaned against the wall for 10-15 minutes. In the evening I took baths with crushed wild chestnuts, blackwort root (Symphytum officinale), wild flowers, garden sage (Salvia officinalis), stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), common mallow root (Malva silvestris), oak bark (Quercus), birch leaves (Betula Verucossa) - boiled for 30 minutes and cooled to reach the body temperature. You should keep your feet in the plants bath for 20 minutes. The mixture may be used 3-4 times. The cure consists in 10-15 baths (each of them may be re-used 3-4 times, after warming it a little). Let me recommend you a treatment that was extremely effective in my situation. In your case, the gout occurs at your hands and knees; in my case, it occurs at my feet (toes, sole, and ankle) and in the end at my knees. It manifests through partial immobilization, caused by the blocking up of all the joints. I tried a lot of teas, but the most effective was the dried bean pods decoction, prepared as it follows: let 4 spoonfuls of dried bean pods (finely minced) steep in one liter of water for one night and boil it the next morning until you get half of it. You should drink this quantity during the respective day. You may increase the concentration. However, the most effective medicine is the diet, which should be strictly kept all your life (remember: all your life!), as the gout recurs as soon as there are exceptions to the diet. You need to have a strong will. Contraindicated food: viscera of the animals (kidneys, liver, brains), lamb, veal, pork, roasted meat, meat soups; vegetables that contain purines (garden sorrel (Rumex patientia), spinach (Spinacia oleracea)); leguminous plants: peas, dried beans - the green one is permitted); Russian tea, natural coffee, alcohol, spices, spicy appetizers. You should drink 2 liters of liquids every day. 1. A very effective remedy against the urinary infection is the cranberry juice (as we find it here, in Canada). My daughter, when she was 3 years and a half, had the same problem; I administered her antibiotic, as the doctor had prescribed, but she did not get rid of the infection after one dose. The doctor advised me to give her to drink as much cranberry juice as possible. As a result of this cure, my daughter got rid of the infection. Be careful, the urinary infection is frequent with the children who do not use the potty regularly and who wear Pampers underwear or diapers. It is more frequent with the girls than with the boys. Another reason for which the little girls may suffer from urinary infection is the way they wipe or are wiped at their anus after every stool. You should never wipe your childs anus from the back side towards the front side, but the other way round. Our family doctor explained these details to me. 3. I also have a daughter who suffered from a urinary infection when she was about one year old. She underwent a treatment with all kind of antibiotics; as a result of them, the urine medical examination had worse and worse results. I found the solution in the following natural treatment: Meltonic Renal (it can be bought from the shops that sell apicultural products): dissolve ½ teaspoonful into 250 ml of tea; she should drink it during one day; Carpicon (suppositories): ½ suppository one hour before she goes to sleep; mix equal quantities from the following medicinal plants: wild chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), rose-hip, coriander (Coriandrum nativum), milfoil (Achillea millefolium), sweet basil (Prunella vulgaris), yellow locust (Robinia pseudacacia). Make an infusion from one teaspoonful of mixture with 250 ml of water. Your daughter should drink 5-6 cups a day, between meals. You should sweeten the tea with honey, alternating the lime honey with the yellow locust honey. You should add as much lemon juice as possible in the tea; "Hercules"- a product that you can buy from the natural shops: ½ teaspoonful two times a day, before meal, with little tea; she should eat fruit or drink fruit juices rich in vitamin C or tablets of vitamin C. After three weeks of treatment, the results of the medical tests were good. As I could not believe that it could be solved so easily, we repeated the medical tests after two months. I would like to recommend Mr. Alexandru four alternative methods of healing that are effective against all kind of diseases: keeping the total healing fast, Oshawa diet, exclusively fresh food (milk products that are not degraded through boiling or pasteurization, cereals, raw vegetables and fruit), and the urine therapy. What made me resort to other healing methods than the allopathic ones was an eye disease (uveitis) I had been suffering from for a few years and that kept on recurring. I was hospitalized many times and every time I was discharged alleviated, but without the hope that the disease would not recur. Your problem is not only a gynecological one, but also hormonal (connected to the endocrinology) and obviously, psychic. I believe you suffer from a hormone disorder that you do not know about yet. You have the cyst and the breast pains because of this disorder. I advise you to run the hormonal tests at the Endocrinology Institute "C. I. Parhon" from Bucharest at once. By a simple medical test you can run the cancer marker for ovarian cancer, so that you could get rid of any obsession regarding this disease. At the same time, you should eliminate the fear sensation, as it maintains your disease and it may in the end lead to a serious suffering. What helped me a lot were the unction religious services (they should be performed for health). Even though I still have some health problems, I managed to find my inner peace again due to them. You should mix them and take 3 spoonfuls a day one in the morning, one at noon and one in the evening, half an hour before the meals. Dear Mrs. Elena, your disorder may be solved with the help of birthwort herb (Aristolochia sp.). You should take seat baths and enemas with this plant. The treatment duration depends on every person. The receipts were published in "F.As". Seat baths: boil a handful (50 g) of birthwort herb in 4 l of water, until you get half of the initial liquid. Then you should strain the decoction and pour the liquid into a basin. Add hot water, in order to make it be lukewarm. The bath lasts for 15-20 minutes; the pelvis area should be completely covered by liquid. The enemas should contain the following extract: 1 spoonful of birthwort herb, 1 spoonful of blackwort (Symphytum officinale) root, 1 spoonful of marigold (Calendula). Let it soak into 500 ml of water from evening till the next morning, when it should be strained. You should remove the steeping and boil the remaining plant into half a liter of water, until you get half of it. Let the decoction get colder and then mix it with the steeping. Use this mixture for enemas with the help of the douche. You should keep this liquid in your intestine for 10 minutes, and then eliminate it.
